5 Tips for Planning a Wedding During the Pandemic

Wherever you are in the world, you are bound to have been affected by COVID in some way. Whether it has just been an inconvenience to your life or you or someone you know has contracted the virus, it really is high time it vanished. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be going anywhere any time soon, so we must find ways to carry on regardless. Planning a wedding during this time is a major example of this.

For anyone, planning a wedding can be chaotic, with or without a pandemic. However, when the rules change and weddings are not what they used to be, how do you plan the perfect one for you and your partner? Read on, as we have just the tips for you!

Communicate with your Future Spouse

This is the perfect time to talk to your partner about the type of wedding you both want. You are both at

home together a lot more, so why not use the time productively? Before any real planning occurs, make sure you are both on the same page. Discuss what is important to you and what isn’t. Do you both want the same theme? Are you set on a specific date? Are you agreed on colors, flowers, types of décor, etc? Once you both have things crystal clear in your minds on what you want, planning should be a little simpler.

Budget Time

Tying in with the first point, now is the time to agree on a realistic budget with each other. The good news here is that weddings are downsized for the foreseeable future, there will be less people present, which means you may be able to get more bang for your buck. Nevertheless, you still need to set a good budget and keep tabs on it, just as you would for a normal wedding. Any bargains that come after, will be a bonus. We suggest setting a rough itemized budget for the things most important to you, then an amount for other bits along the way.

Research, Research, Research

Now you have it all in your head, get online, and do that research. Are your ideas and plans possible? If not, is there some kind of compromise? Research those vendors! Will you be having a planner? A photographer? What kind of minster or celebrant will you be wanting? Not all types of wedding vendors are the same, so it’s best to do your research and find the ones that are best for you.

Pinterest is a must for most brides to be and ladies, you know you have a board set up and dedicated to the wedding day of your dreams! If you haven’t, get one now! Meeting your Vendors

So, you have vendors in mind, you just want to meet with them to sort out all the details. Depending on where you are and of course, with social distancing, the best thing to do at the current time is meet online and chat there. There are a few platforms you can do this on, Zoom is one of the most popular, but if you are comfortable with it, platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook are perfect for video chats too.

Virtual Tours

Well, if you’re going to have virtual meetings with your vendors, why not take a virtual tour of your chosen venue too? Many venues are getting on board with this type of viewing as it allows for people to do it at their own convenience, plus it’s perfectly safe and virus free.
