Kenya + Michael's Pop of Color Intimate Wedding in Downtown Historical Douglasville, Georgia

Kenya and Michael are beautiful inside and out! The couple's very colorful intimate fall wedding took place at O’Neil Plaza in Douglasville, Georgia. O’Neil Plaza is an outdoor venue located in historical downtown Douglasville’s plaza, with its inviting architecture, quaint surrounds, soothing fountain, and brick pavers crating a picturesque backdrop for this little wedding ceremony. They had a simple ceremony witnessed by a small group of their closest friends and family, and they wrote their own vows.

The ceremony consisted of The Unity Cross Ceremony, a unique way to celebrate the joining of a bride and groom together as one. It is a beautiful sculpture that is assembled during the wedding ceremony symbolizing a bride and groom becoming ONE in the body of Christ. The groom places the outer cross in the wood base. The bride then places the sculpted cross inside the outer cross. The Unity Cross can be displayed in the couple's home after the wedding ceremony as a reminder of their wedding day and the union they share. The Groom places the outer Cross in the beautiful wood base as the Minister explains how God created man to be Bold, Strong and the Defender of the family, yet he is empty and incomplete without the woman. The Bride then places the more delicate cross inside of the Grooms cross as the Minister explains how God created Woman to be Delicate, Multi-faceted and taking care of all the little things that completes the man, and the Two Shall Become One. The Bride and Groom then use the 3 pegs to lock the union (cross) together, symbolizing the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as the Minister exclaims that "What God has brought together let no man take apart". Following the ceremony, the guest were escorted to The B Suite Event Venue for the reception.

One of my favorite things about their wedding was the simple and clean design. They had eggplant colored linens with pops of gold throughout the tablescape. Rich vibrant gold and jeweled tones were used, gold beaded chargers, gold rimmed dinnerware and glassware, and florals were purple and lavender hydrangeas with red garden roses and with a hint of greenery just made it gorgeous! The room was aglow with tall candelabras, floating candles and votives. The use of the gold stainless steel “O” back chairs for their sweetheart was simply stunning!

My favourite part of this event was definitely the couple. You could tell throughout the whole day that this couple was just so in love with each other. Their vows to each other were so thoughtful and they were elated throughout their reception!

Not only were Kenya and Michael super affectionate, but you could tell how deeply loved by their guests they were. Their best man gave a toast that had everyone laughing and crying. They topped the night off with some a great meal, dancing and celebrating! Please enjoy reliving this day through these beautiful images by Mishaun Arrington Photography!

Making Kenya and Michael's wedding day a dream come true was our goal, and I think it's fair to say we met it.
